Built with love by mychildcare.co.uk

All planning, activities and routines are linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

I have many play and learning activities to suit all ages and stages of development including construction (i.e. magnets, lego etc) small world toys, role play, tent & tunnel,  puzzles, board games, lots and lots of arts and craft materials, dressing up clothes, dolls,  musical instruments, junk modelling, playdough etc.

To encourage child-initiated play, the majority of activities are easily accessible by the children and are, therefore, regularly risk assessed. The children are encouraged to choose for themselves and put toys/books away when finished with or if they want to play with something else.

The younger children have access to toys appropriate to their age and stage of development, ie shape sorters (both bought and home made), sensory games/books and lots of one-to-one attention.

I have a large range of reading books covering all ages cared for.

Outside, my small garden is fully enclosed, with access to Foxey Leys Copse, a lovely nature reserve and various parks within a short walk. This gives us endless opportunities to climb trees, play poohsticks in the stream and generally just run around in a traffic-free area.

I share a local allotment with 3 other childminders. The children love going there.  As well as helping to water the produce, we have a mud kitchen, digging area and tractor and trailer for them to play on. Corn on-the-cobs have been very popular in the past and the children have enjoyed eating them at home!
