Coronavirus 2020

Whilst your child is in attendance at my setting, I will be continuing with doorstep dropoff and pickup.  This is necessary to ensure that the setting has the least exposure as possible to minimise risk. If parents arrive at the same time as another, I would ask that you take turns and stand 2m apart.  Adults (other than those working or part of my home) will not be able to enter the property.

I will be continuing with additional handwashing as well as normal handwashing, ie when hands are dirty, after using the toilet or nappy change, prior to eating, stroking the animals etc.  Children will also be required to wash their hands on arrival at the setting, after physical contact with others and any other situation that lends itself to this requirement.

During this period of time, children will not be able to bring toys from home.  All toys used in the setting will be disinfected at the end of each session or as and when necessary throughout the day.  Toys that cannot be easily disinfected will not be used.  Children's bags will remain here and returned after their last session of the week.

There will be additional cleaning on top of my usual routine.  In particular, high contact areas such as handles, tables, taps, light switches etc will be disinfected regularly throughout the day.  Toilets will be disinfected after each use.

I will not be using my fridge to store lunchboxes and would ask that parents put an iceblock in lunchboxes for the time being.

I will ensure that children have regular access to soap/hand sanitiser.

Any bedding used in my setting will be washed regularly at a high temperature.

If children show any signs of Covid-19, they must be picked up immediately and your emergency backup will be called if necessary so please make sure that their contact details are up-to-date (especially if your backup contacts are in the vulnerable group). Your child will be kept away from the other children until they are picked up.

Symptoms are: Persistent cough, raised temperature (over 37.5 C), shortness of breath (although some children have cold related asthma), chronic fatigue and/or aches and pains plus in some cases a loss of sense of smell or taste.

If your child shows any symptoms or I have cause to believe that they are not well, he or she will be required to isolate at home for 7 days but be kept at home for 14 days.  You are liable for your standard fees during this period as per your contract.  A test can now be booked through nhs.uk/coronavirus.  If the child tests negative but is still showing symptoms, s/he will be required to stay at home until the symptoms have disappeared.

I will not attend playgroups or have social interaction with other settings during this period.  I will, however, be partaking in normal outdoor walks etc whilst ensuring social distancing measures are in place.

Assistants working in the setting will wash their hands and remove shoes as normal when entering the setting.
